Welcome to the official website of Victoria's Adult Family Home, a licensed adult family home in Vancouver, WA. Victoria's Adult Family Home (VAFH) provides a caring and loving home for elderly who need twenty-four hour care. We make sure that the residents always come first. VAFH provides care for each individual resident, and gives all of the residents a clean, safe, and loving environment, where they can truly feel at home.

House Rules and Policies

WAC 388-76-60050 (1)

  1. Visitors are very welcome. Please respect the Resident's personal preference with regards to the daily routine. Usually the hours are from 9 am to 8 pm. If a resident does not wish to have a visitor, then resident's wishes will be honored.
  2. Resident's family and mends are encouraged to take resident for outings or overnight visits. The time for pick up and return of the resident should be arranged in advance.
  3. A telephone will be available at all times with consideration to other residents and the needs of each member of the household. Long distance calls are the responsibility of the resident. A calling card or a separate line to the resident's room is recommended and would be the resident's responsibility.
  4. We will respect and honor resident's need for privacy as much as possible. Personal property should be kept in the resident's bedroom and should be respected by all household members.
  5. The volume on radios and TV sets is to be turned down at 9:00 p.m.
  6. There is no smoking allowed on premise.
  7. No intoxication is allowed on the premise.
  8. Meals and snacks will be provided on a regular basis with special diets taken into consideration. Meal and snack times are as follows:

    BREAKFAST: 7:00 - 9:00 AM
    SNACK: 10:00 - 11:00 AM
    LUNCH: 12:00- 1:00 PM
    SNACK: 2:00 - 3:00 PM
    DINNER: 5:00 - 6:00 PM
    SNACK: 7:00 - 8:00 PM
     
  9. There is not a set time for going to bed at night in the home.  Every single resident will be able to choose what the best time is for him or her.
  10. Bathing is provided for all resident three times a week.  Bathing assistance provided as needed.
  11. Pets will not be accepted in the facility
  12. Medication will be given only as prescribed by the resident’s physician and following WAC’s regulations (see medication assistants in admission agreement).
  13. Residents will be given thirty (30) day notice to transfer when condition requires a more skilled level of care than the adult care home can offer. Exceptions will be made in an emergency situation (residents mental status causes harm to other residents in the home or to himself)
  14. Residents will be given thirty (30) day notices if the Operator decides to close sell or move the Adult Care Home, increases the monthly rent, or moves, transfers or evicts a resident form the Adult Care Home.
  15. Residents must participate in full emergency evacuation drill once a year.
  16. Resident will be allowed to exercise civil rights (i.e., sending and receiving unopened mail, making own purchases, voting).
  17. Residents may feel free to express their likes and dislikes in an agreeable manner and may expect the same courtesy from staff and other members of the household.
  18. If provider is on vacation or otherwise unavailable, the resident manager is in charge of the facility.
